Ok, God…My faith has been restored…somewhat.

In a day and age when Rush Limbaugh reportedly represents the best and brightest minds in the Republican Party and to not publicly kiss his ring means being taken the Conservative Woodshed where you apologize, kneeling before El Rushbo, there’s been a breath of fresh air!

The kind of fresh air that makes you rethink your beliefs. Makes you think that good things can happen to bad people instead of the other way around all the time.

Talk show host Michael Savage - real name Michael Weiner - is on the banned list

This morning, the British Home Office banned radio hate-talker Micheal Weiner, aka Michael Savage, from entering the country because our British cousins have determined that he’s a preacher of hate. I already knew that but I figured that since he has one of the most-listened-to radio shows in the country that it was just understood that he’s an asshole, a liar and a hypocrite that everyone was just ok with it.

Apparently the British feel differently.

“Coming to this country is a privilege. If you can’t live by the rules that we live by, the standards and the values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what’s more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded,” said Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.

In this action, Weiner joins a list of just 16 individuals England has banned from entering the country this past 12 months on grounds that they are toxic and dangerous to plants and other living things.

Above: More Badder Person

Also named are American Baptist pastor Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr., and his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper, who have picketed the funerals of Aids victims and claimed the deaths of US soldiers are a punishment for US tolerance of homosexuality. These are the wing-nuts jerks who protest at funerals for America’s dead servicemen and women claiming that we shouldn’t be honoring the dead because they died at God’s hand for America’s sin in allowing homosexuality to flourish.

Huh? WTF?

The fact that someone hasn’t walked across the street (Reverend Asshole is usually restricted from  getting any closer) during one of these funeral protests and blasted this fucktard’s  brains all over the sidewalk is a Miracle of Biblical proportion.

Where are the returning servicemen who align-themselves-with-extreme-right-wing-groups-and-become-dangerous when you need them?

Weiner and Phelps are in good company. Read the names of the other 14  individuals who are now officailly banned in Mother England:

Hamas MP Yunis Al-Astal, Jewish extremist Mike Guzovsky, former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard Stephen Donald Black and neo-Nazi Erich Gliebe are also on the list released today.

Artur Ryno and Pavel Skachevsky, the former leaders of a violent Russian skinhead gang which committed 20 racially motivated murders, are also banned from coming to Britain. Both are currently in prison.

Making up the rest of the 16 named by the Home Office today are preachers Wadgy Abd El Hamied Mohamed Ghoneim, Abdullah Qadri Al Ahdal, Safwat Hijazi and Amir Siddique, Muslim activist Abdul Ali Musa (previously Clarence Reams), murderer and Hezbollah terrorist Samir Al Quntar and Kashmiri terror group leader Nasr Javed.

Care for a weiner? No, thanks. We already have one.

  1. Over here in the UK, the Phelps were planning to picket a gay guy’s funeral. The police were told that if they tried, the Phelps wouldn’t leave our shores in one piece. And so, the Home Office to stop trouble, banned them. I say let them come, we’re not as passive or as Christian as the Americans.
As for Weiner, the man is ridiculous.

    Hey, thanks for your input.

And nice blog, futiledemocracy! Don’t be a stranger

Geez Bill, that first photo has a remarkable resemblance to YOU!!! At first I thought it WAS you staring in a self deprecating sort of role. Then I read the text and realized just what it is you are up to……

I assume that your posting this thread means you agree with the notion that it is OK to ban folks stricktly on their beliefs? Are you for real? Doesn’t that counter directly with all that tolerance blah-blah-blah you and your pals are always trying to shove in other peoples faces?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of MS. He IS an asshole and I have NEVER understood why his ratings are as high as they are unless there are that many assholes that enjoy his bombastic hate. Phelps is as you say, a fucktard and I agree that it’s amazing he’s still alive. That said, neither has broken any laws. This to me is a disturbing example of the “thought police” running amok and flexing their muscle. Where does THAT stop? You may be musing and think it’s OK now because these folks you pointed out ARE despicable in their own regards, but eventually these things have a way of getting bigger and bigger until they suddenly come for YOUR freedoms. You won’t be smiling then my friend!

I can’t tell if you’re seriously in agreement with this unwritten statute or if you’re just trying to stir the pot. Which is it?

    Bill…… if

“Coming to this country is a privilege. If you can’t live by the rules that we live by, the standards and the values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what’s more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded,”

…..is OK with you then why don’t we just apply it here in this country. How would you feel about that? Think of what we could do with all those Illegal Immigrants if we just envoked what the British are doing. I like it word for word until you get to the names published part. 12 million names would quickly get lost and probably result in the unneccessary deaths of many fine trees.

See what I mean about cheering this on. Next round might not be exactly what you had envisioned, especially if the “pendulum” swings back the other way which it will someday. By then, if this disturbing trend has allowed itself to fester and grow, you may find yourself regretting that it ever came to be.

Cheery’O, Mate…… gotta go throw another Shrimp on the Barbie.
    Oooops, sorry! Wrong socialist state!

I’m off topic here (and I don’t mean to hijack your thread, Bill) but your post led me to this “Discovery” – so I thought I’d just put it here rather than generate a new post.

I used to listen to Savage Nation radio during my evening commute until the radio station changed his time slot. While I probably only heard a small slice of what his overall program was about, I always liked what I heard. I found him quite entertaining and interesting, and pretty much thought he was right on with what he had to say.

But anyway, after reading your post I thought to myself that it had been a while since I tuned into conservative talk radio so I dialed it in on the way to work this morning.

Rush Limbaugh was on initially. He’s never, “…represented the best and brightest minds of the Republican party” in my opinion, but I enjoy him from time to time. For me a little Rush goes a long ways.

Next up was Michael Medved, a USA Today columnist, TV commentator, film critic and author. Medved also has a nationally sydicated radio program, which is carried by our local conservative talk radio station here in Seattle.

Micheal Medved was ranting and raving about how our government wants to expand their control and influence over the private sector. He used New York Democratic Senator Charles Schumer as an example. Medved said that Senator Schumer wants the International House of Pancakes (and he emphasized the word “International” for effect) to serve maple syrup that’s made in New York.

“How outrageous is this?” Medved exclaimed. “Government wants to control everything!!! It’s the INTERNATIONAL House of Pancakes and the government wants to tell them what kind of syrup to serve!”

So I get to work this morning and do a little poking around on the internet. It seems that all Senator Schumer did was to simply write a letter to IHOP’s CEO Julia Stewart, urging that New York’s IHOP restaurants be allowed to offer NY maple syrup as an option, much like Vermont IHOP’s are allowed to offer Vermont maple syrup as an option to their customers.

It’s this kind of misrepresented half-truth, stir-the-pot, sensationalist bullshit that pisses me off!

  5. bill says:

Me and my pals? You mean Lenin and Trotsky, don’t you, Randy? I really prefer Lennon and McCartney.

And this is priceless: “Until they suddenly come for YOUR freedoms. You won’t be smiling then my friend!”

Maybe I will be smiling, Comrade Spiker, as they wait and smoke you out and you use all your ammo and food storage and your camoflaged generator runs out of gas and they haul your ass off to the FEMA Re-education camps with the plastic coffins and the posters of Comrade Obama smiling down on you in the cold, white porcelain camp-cafeteria of your mind.

Now, be a good boy and rattle your empty tin cup along the bars of your cell. Forced American Rehistory class starts right after your protein breakfast bar and cell inspection.

  6. Randy Spiker says:

Well you did get one thing right there Bill……. I do have a protein breakfast bar every morning.

    How did you know???

    Otherwise, your usual funny reply.

    You DO have a gift!

  7. Stu says:

ps: I turned on Michael Savage last night after reading your post as well. I caught myself laughing outloud; he was using the Sex Pistol’s “God Save The Queen” as his bumper music as he segued into and out of commercial breaks.

  8. bill says:

You know, I get the Freedom of Speech thing just fine. But there is speech, particularly hate speech, that is not protected. Child porn is not protected. Slander and libel is not protected. I can’t stand on the street corner with a bullhorn and encourage people to kill someone. I know, I’ve tried.

Yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater is not protected. And that’s what Weiner does. The Home Secretary said in the full statement that they aren’t willing to host a hate talker who’s mission it is to stir up anger and even violence in their community. Look at the other people on the list. I don’t think you’ll have a problem barring them becasue, after all, they have Middle Eastern names.

In order to protect freedom, I think you sometimes you have to protect it from being abused.

Stu, a few years back I used to listen to Weiner on the way home and felt that he was very bright and given his past-life vocation of biology or botany or some damn thing, he seemed somehow nearly credible. But he’s made millions, like someone else we know, telling us that anyone who isn’t white and European in ancestry is the enemy.

I don’t think so. I wished they would close the border, frankly, until this country can create a sensible immigration policy. My grandparents on my mother’s side were immigrants through Ellis Island and if you didn’t have family to stay with, a clean bill of health and a job waiting, they put you back on the boat for a slow ride back home.

  9. Randy Spiker says:

On a lighter note…… found this you tuber this a.m. and have been chuckling all day. It does kind of fits into this thread if you stretch it a little.

  10. bill says:

I got half way through it and decided that I agree with the cop.
