welcome

We’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Randy Spiker to the BS BLOG as a guest commentator.

Randy’s been a regular visitor here, and valued member of our community for quite a while now. Bill and I thought we’d hand him the keys to the back door and let him take a shot at this blogging stuff.

Some of you may remember him from the early days on the JB forum when he posted as “Torq Dog”. We’ve shared emails off and on for many years, and I consider him a friend and a good guy. We look forward to seeing what Randy brings to the table.

Again, welcome aboard T-Dog!

    Welcome, Randy!

So glad you’ve jumped on board the blog wagon. It’s fun. You’ll see.

  2. Randy Spiker says:

Thanks Guys and Gals…… I am truly honored. As many of you know, I have a passion for things political, however, I’m also passionate about many other subjects ranging from meterology to music to outdoorsy stuff to off road racing and rock crawling and my latest ……. astronomy. Yep, I’ve got a big 12″ reflector that is pretty amazing what you can see through it.

I hope to help Bill and Stu keep things lively around here though currently I’ve been busy trying to get the Man Cave finished so you may not see as much of me as what you have been used to. I will try to post as time avails.

Anyway, thanks again and we’ll be bloggin at ya later.

please be neat and wipe your feet!

Offroad racing and Rock crawling. Now you got my attention!

  5. Da Goddess says:

Don’t forget to post photos of the wild horses and stuff you see! Those are always favorites of mine.

And I’d like you to post some photos of The Burning Man Festival north of Reno this summer. Nothing says “fun” like a grown man running around naked, smeared with white mud and wild-eyed from eating too many mushrooms and having sex with his buddies without realizing it.

  7. Randy Spiker says:

Burning Man eh? To be honest, I’ve never been and with the size of the thing rivaling the total population of Carson City (over 50,000) I think I’ll pass. I sure kick myself in the butt for not going when it was much smaller and intimate.

Joanie, you read my mind (what’s left of it). I was thinkng of something along the lines (no, not you Bill) of a photographic essay of life here where I live. For those of you unfamiliar, we live on “lands end” with a thousnd acres of open space that we look upon from our patio. This gives us an up close and personal view of nature with Coyotes, Wild Horses and many different birds.

Adam, it may be awhile as I am currently compiling all of my rock crawling vids to digital but I will try and post some of the more interesting follies I have on tape.

Jane, you want me to put Neet on my Feet? I thought that stuff went under your arms. ;>)

Now, back to the Man-cave where my new surround system awaits me. I just sparked it up for the first time last night and so far, without having it dialed in, it sounds quite impressive. I know my neighbors ain’t gonna be too happy, especially when I crank up some Joe at Fort Wayne. That one NEEDS to be played VERY loud!

  8. Da Goddess says:

Woo hoo! Definitely think a lot of people would enjoy the photos. They always make me smile.

Haven’t been here in ages. Too much going on in the spring. Welcome Randy. I do have vague memories of Torq Dog on the old forum. Sounds like you live in a beautiful area, as do Bill and Stu. Never been out west, but it’s a must on my list of vacation destinations.

My husband was recently working on his Man Cave and was a bit depressed that, in the process of trying to finish it over the last 12 years, it’s become more of a kid cave. Now they are growing up though, and the toys are moving out, and maybe it can finally become the place he envisioned.

Anyway, I’m sure your presence here will make for lively conversation. Cheers!
