Cutline!

This week’s theme is “Cutline” – a design by Chris Pearson.

I like it better than last week’s “Greyzed” theme. It’s crisp and clean, and a little less cartoon-grunge feeling. What do you think?

Agreed…… better. Has more of a newspaper feel to it and it was easier to locate vitals like post count etc. Can you change the header photo?

Yes we can, I didn’t bother messing with it since we’re just playing around. I still don’t know that I like it better than our original black theme?

I think I do like it better. It just seems easier to read. The only thing that you might consider, providing that this one’s gonna stick is, would it be possible to tone down the white background just a tad. It might help cut down on the glare a bit.
Also, is it my imagination or is the alloted text area larger (wider) on this format when compared to the black original?

Here’s a new banner I found online. What do you think of this one?

    • torqdog says:

Not much. Looks too cartoonish for my tastes and pleasures. Is there any way we can access the choices and have a peek for ourselves?

I just googled “Blog Banners” and “Blog Headers” and found it…there are a number of sites out therer with free ones. Feel free to snoop around and see if you find one you like.

One other thing I’d address if it were me is I would put the “Recent Comments ” window near the top. I probably use that tool more than any other.

On a completely different subject, can you explain why this blog doesn’t “remember” me? I have to enter my name and password just about every time I visit this site. Cookies are enabled as is the “remember me” box checked

    • Stu says:

If it’s been a long time since you logged in, it could be your anti-virus program has deleted the cookie from your computer that is responsible for remembering you. Other than that, I don’t know. I don’t use the “remember me” feature…

  6. Stu says:

Well I found a better header/banner and moved the recent comments up as requested.

I did some checking and this theme does not have the option of showing the post author. I know we can recognize each other’s style and content, but probably not so much our readers.

Maybe we can just add our names or initials at the end of our posts?
