Other People’s Kids

It goes without saying that your own newborn’s photographs are beautiful, while other people’s snapshots are just another baby picure. I can’t count the times that I’ve been shown an image by a proud new parent and offered the polite and obligatory, “Awwwe” while thinking, My God, what a homely kid!
Well, there’s an exception to every rule. I just received this photo in the email from an old friend from my Fire Department days, along with the note, “Just so you know what perfection looks like :-)”
David, you’re right. That IS perfection! Beautiful image, and a beautiful baby. Congratulations my friend.

You wonder what he must be thinking…..I hope simple little pleasures, like PaPa kissing his toes and softly rubbing his head. He is beautiful!
Awwwwwwwwwwww…wait until he’s 14-15 and you try to softly rub his head.
…… or when she turns 15 and you can’t remember where you put your shotgun as the boys are all hangin around outside.
Ooops, I just noticed it’s a boy! (insert sheepish grin here)
Hey, you’re in Nevada. You would still use a shotgun when the boys showed up waiting for your son to come out and play.
Nah, that’s one state further to the west. (lol)
