Here’s A Weiner With Balls…

Love him or hate him, you’ve got to admire his passion!

The Democrats may have themselves a viable candidate in 2012!

But seriously, I do find his candor and passion rather refreshing.

The dude is a totally grandstanding charlatan. Don’t be fooled and taken in by his “passion”. It’s all cosmetic.

I must admit, it is entertaining to watch.

I guess I should have included somewhere that my post was not meant as an endorsement. I’m not on board with all of his positions (voting against the ban on partial-birth abortions is indefensible IMO, but that another topic for another time).

Grandstanding or not however, I do get the impression that he means what he says, and says what he means. I’ll take forthright candor from a politician any day, as opposed to the ambiguous mumblings we get so often.

“Don’t be fooled and taken in with his “passion.” ‘

Hahahahaha! P-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-T, Randy! What if it’s genuine?

  2. Bill says:

Randy’s just mad at him because he called for a Congressional investigation of Glenn Beck’s incestuous Goldline-sponsor scam.

Other than that, I know of nothing he’s done that would label him as a charlatan, particularly in a Congress full of charlatans.

    • torqdog says:

Well he did suddenly go dark when he realized that all his caterwauling was just increasing Goldline/Beck sales. C’mon, you know that was just a charade to try and separate Beck from his #1 sponsor and it fell flat on it’s face. Kinda like when Obama disses Fox or Limbaugh and afterwards their ratings increase. When are they gonna learn that calling attention, positive or negative just causes folks to get curiously interested and some stay after checking it out. And this latest episode is really silly when you consider that the Dems have a substantial majority and he shouldn’t have to scream at the top of his lungs and look to the minority to pass this bill. Yep, charlatan perfectly describes him all right. I truly think he’s a Rahm Emanuel wannabe. He just doesn’t yet have the street thug cred that you get from Chicago style politicking.

You are abosolutely spot on with labeling congress as a whole as nothing but a group of charlatans, all very well practiced in the delivery of pseudo passionate speeches. ;-)

  3. Bill says:

There’s more to that story than just trying to stop a Beck sponsor. I read into it this week-end and it has to do with Beck scaring the bejeesus out of his marginalized, elderly audience about how Obama, the Marxist is killing our way of life and how we’re broke and how the Chinese may call our debts due this afternoon and how gold is the only monetary instrument that will survive the coming Obama-lypse-collapse of the Universe…sweet Jesus, I think I just filled my Depends with Mr. Duty!

Then, he goes to break and shills…Goldline. This piece of shit, dry-drunk, fake-Mormon convert goes to break with a straight face and hawks gold.

Weiner was pissed that it was a consumer scam to use his show to push the financial apocalypse and how gold is THE ONLY solution, then go to break and hawk gold. You have to admit, it stinks.

Beyond that, apparently the kind of fancy-coined gold Goldline is pushing is sub-par investment coinage that is more expensive and returns less value than buying plain, simple bullion.

    I’m going with Grayson-Weiner in 2016.

    • torqdog says:

      Here’s a headline from the L.A. Times that kind of parallels what you’re talkin about with Goldline;

Is gold dealer using fear to steer buyers into more expensive purchases?

….,to which I say, isn’t that about the same as Democrats always using social security as a fear mechanism to get the elderly to vote Democrat? Fear sells dude……… just turn on the news or pick up a newspaper. Ain’t allot of happy talk goin on. Also, living in a free market, capitalist system means that folks have the “right” to be stupid and be sold product at inflated prices. To avoid that is called educating yourself and “shopping around”. I could be wrong but I don’t think I ever remember a company legitimately doing business being investigated by Congress like this. Again, it’s just a Weiner getting his rocks off by again going after conservatives and the evil, dreaded Fox news as was evidenced by Stu’s Fox video. Near the end when Weiner, for the umpteenth time was again asked if his door was open to look at some of the other companies with far higher markups, he finally answered by reluctantly sort of agreeing but deflected right back to Goldline.(“Weiner eat the anchor“….. yeah right!) If it was Olberman or MSNBC or any of the other network “allies” doing the advertising……. no story, no investigation, PERIOD!

We do still live in a free market, capitalist country, don’t we? Is Goldline forcing people to buy from them? Those are the only two questions that need answering in this silly spectacle of an investigation. I will add that if Goldline is as bad as Weiner claims, then maybe he should focus his investigation on the Better Business Bureau that continues to give them an A+ rating. I don’t care much for the BBB as I’ve personally had to deal with them when I had my business as it related to suppliers. Most folks look and go to them with trust and buy solely on their recommendations. Bill…… quick, call Alan and Andy and let’s get this thing on the move!!! Could be some payola shananigans goin on! ;-)

Here’s the L.A. Times article in it’s entirety.

      http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-lazarus-20100730,0,1622097.column

It’s kinda funny to scroll to the bottom of the page of this article that warns against purchasing gold and voila, there’s two ads to purchase Gold…….. one from Goldline!

      Go figure!

    • torqdog says:

      “I’m going with Grayson-Weiner in 2016.”

Ok, just to be the countering conservative, I’ll say
Palin-Bachman….. “let’s take our country back”

Now we can both collectively go and throw-up in our own toilets!

      • Bill says:

I would be thrilled to run my Weiner/Grayson ticket up against Palin/Bachmann…any day.

Randy, I understand your partisanship, sorta, but what does fleecing scared, elderly people out of their money have to do with Democrats and Social Security? Seriously, dude, get a grip. I agree about the BBB rating. Unreliable.

The phrase I thik you’re looking for is, “Let the buyer beware!” A great call to battle in Capitalism, but we have rules of engagement that say,”You don’t screw old people.”

      • torqdog says:

I was simply making a parallel that scaring old folks into purchasing gold ain’t much different than scaring old folks into voting a certain way. You brought the term “fleecing” into the discussion, well how about a “mental” fleecing by way of telling folks that if you vote for Repubs, old folks are gonna die because they’ll lose their SS which we both know is a farce.

Same difference in my book but as usual, YMMV ;-)

Bill, I’m curious as to what your opinion is on this matter.

  4. Stu says:

Here’s an ABC News clip dealing with this subject:

    And another clip from Fox:

    Both are worth a watch

    • Bill says:

Thanks for the clips. You know, at some point, common sense and guts trump partisanship. I used to feel that way about McCain until he sold out with Palin.

I just watched them both. Good test of my memory and comprehension skills. The ABC piece is pretty much how I remembered the story. The Fox piece is just funny watching Weiner eat the anchor, who also runs ads for Goldline during his show.

  5. Jane says:

I haven’t watched them all but after watching this daily show clip
    http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-august-4-2010/i-give-up—9-11-responders-bill?xrs=eml_tds
i came back to watch the first one.
the daily show clip puts that one in perspective.
