I Want Your Money!

August 10, 2010 by torqdog

Thare’s a new flick coming soon. Political and to the point, do you think it will resonate and make a difference?

Since we are headed into the political “silly season”, just for fun I’ve included some political cartoons gathered from the iwantyourmoney.com website. Most are quite satirical in nature and for satire to work, there has to be an element of truth. If the print is too small, click on the image to enlarge.

  1. Bill says:

    Try the de-caff.

    What?……. and skip the buzz? That’s like drinking O’Doul’s……. what’s the point?!!!

    Did you watch the vid? Without getting all defensive…..whadda ya think? (serious question time)

  3. Bill says:

    What do I think of it? Nothing. It’s just right-wing propaganda. Nothing new.

    I love that the protesters in the video keep trying to frame themselves as normal, concerned citizens who are attacked by the media when research shows they are overwhelmingly Republican…and sore losers.

      You know, that sore loser comment just reminded me of how for year after year after year we had to listen to whiny liberals telling us of how Bush “stole” the election from Gore. Now them there be some “real” sore losers Bill. Weren’t you one of ’em? Seems I remember you gettin pretty worked up about it.

      I see this new crop a little differently. They are extremely pissed off, not so much about losing the election (McCain never had a chance) but more about the direction this country is going. Record spending that even the most supportive economists are saying will be nearly impossible to get under control unless we have a complete mind-shift is tops but not the only worry by a long shot. (Do you have any Grandkids? Hug ’em if you do.) Add to that a very unpopular health care bill passed by parliamentary moves, a “stimulus” bill that was supposed to be the end all, Govt. takeover of Banks and Auto companies, bailouts, bills not read before voted on, bills “deemed” passed, etc. etc. I might remind you here that this country is still a very center right electorate as confirmed by every Battleground Poll that has been taken. Year to year it doesn’t vary much and the latest measure shows little movement. The Battleground Poll itself is a bipartisan poll, combining the resources of the Tarrance Group and Lake Research Partners and it is widely respected as “THE” definitive poll on this subject..

      Here’s the headline;
      New Battleground Poll – 63% consider themselves conservative
      December 18, 2009 at 3:31

      Here’s the stats;

      So, as you can see, a majority of folks consider themselves to be conservative by almost 2 to 1. Top that with this headline;

      Battleground Poll: 90% concerned about federal government’s level of spending
      April 15, 2010 at 9:39 am

      …….and you can see why, to quote Chuckie Schumer, so many have gone “sour”. 90% would include allot of Democrats Bill and I suppose that you are still one of the 10% holdouts who haven’t yet seen the light? Again, how’s that “summer of recovery” workin for ya, hmmmmm?

      As far as the movie goes, I’m just curious and is one of the reasons I posted this vid as to how much affect political movies have on an election. Obama’s team was masterful at knocking out short “flick” videos that were geared towards the younger crowd and I just don’t know how much affect, if any, this one might have.
