Song Of Yesterday – Black Country Communion

August 26, 2010 by esarsea

There have been 3 tracks from Black Country Communion’s debut CD made available through different sources recently. The latest sneak preview, posted by The Guitar BUZZ is titled, Song Of Yesterday.

It’s my favorite of the 3 tracks released so far. Go here and scroll 1/2 way down through the article for the link. Check it out!

If you missed it previously, you can download the single One Last Soul here, and you can also preview the cut The Revolution In Me here.

The album is scheduled for release September 21st, 2010.

It’s a good one, for sure!

I don’t get the “supergroup” thing. Since when was Jason Bonham considered “Led Zepplin?” Or, really, Glenn Hughes “Deep Purple?” Roger Glover was Deep Purple’s bass player and oft-times recording engineer when they actually meant something.

This is dangerously close to saying that Steppenwolf is coming to town and then you find out that the only original member in the band is the sound guy.

Revolution In Me is interesting and Bonamassa’s guitar breaks are fun to listen to. The rest of it, for me, is just rehashed rock sounds.

My my, are we a little cranky today? :-)

I know that you know, that when someone lists a musician’s name (band name) that it simply indicates the affiliation by which the artist is best known. It’s not intended as a declatative statement that the artist represents – or was the driving force behind – the (band name).

AND…I don’t think it’s comparable to the hypothetical Steppenwolf scenario either. So there! Neener Neener Neener!!!!

But I can’t argue with your opinion of the three BCC tunes released so far, as opinions are just that…opinions…so there isn’t any right or wrong there. I’m liking what I hear, a fresh batch of songs that are cut from the old classic rock/blues rock cloth. I find myself more drawn to “Song of Yesterday” than “Revolution in me” though.

I’m thinking this BCC is going to bring a change in radio. Maybe maybe not. time will tell
I get a Steppenwolf newsletter. they have some great merch sales going on
