Back in September of 2010 I posted a 5-video series about Grand Funk Railroad. The videos were from a VH-1 ‘Behind The Music’ program, and chronicled (among other things) how the band was ripped off by their ex-manager Terry Knight.

I’ve been an unapologetic Grand Funk fan for as long as I can remember, especially their early years (pre ‘American Band’ era). I was surfing youtube the other day and found some interesting Mark Farner interviews, and thought I’d share them here. It would appear that Mark Farner got the short end of the stick, not only from Terry Knight back in the day, but more recently from his old band mates.

First, this interview by Harmony Central:

Secondly, a  more insightful series of interviews by Living Legends Music:

And lastly, for those of you who (like me) love the tone of Mark’s early guitar, here’s how you can get it! (A ‘Messenger’ replica by Eastwood Guitars). Hook this up to some 15″ speaker cabs and a West Labs amp!
