Rest In Peace, Zach Sobiech
2May 20, 2013 by esarsea
Back in December I posted a video called, “Clouds” performed by Zach Sobiech, along with some biographical information that appeared on youtube. Sadly Zach passed away earlier this morning. “Clouds” has been viewed nearly 3,000,000 times since December.
Update Sept 4th 2013: Photo Credit Jeff Dunn Photography (see related comments)

I work for Harper Collins Christian Publishing and would like to find the source of the photo of Zach. Can you tell me where this picture came from?
I replied to Belinda via email, but wanted to share our email exchange here. It led me to research the source of the photograph and add proper credit to the post above (I had originally just grabbed the image off a Google image search results page without clicking through to the source website). I’ve also emailed Jeff to ask his permission to continue using the image – if it no longer appears above, it’s because Jeff requested we remove it.

That’s perfect! Thank you so much!

That would make an awesome cover image! I’ll look around and see what I can find, maybe I can find where it came from.
Zach certainly touched a lot of lives, mine included. I read his mother’s updates regularly on the Caring Bridge website, and
am glad for whatever small part we did to help promote his video and raise awareness of his story.

Hi Stu
Thanks for getting back to me. It’s not about you using the image. Not at all. Our company is publishing a book with Zach’s mother about his life. I am searching for photos and saw that one and loved it. I would love to get my hands on it for the cover. If you come across anything about that I’d love to hear it.
Thanks again for getting back to me. I enjoyed your site.

Hi Belinda
I don’t recall what website or publication it was from. I just searched Google for images of Zach, looking for something that was visually complimentary to Zach and his memory. The BS Blog is a not-for-profit hobby…if your inquiry is related to me using an image that I shouldn’t have (ie: if Harper Collins Christian Publishing owns the rights to that photo) please let me know. I’d be happy to properly credit the image, or remove it.
It is a great shot!
Best Regards,
Stu
